Show Your Mettle (Mettle) is a community of people who are continually striving to; learn more, continue growing, progress forward, and lead by example. Resiliency of the human spirit; steeled, tested, and indomitable.
Mettle defined is: a person’s ability to cope well with difficulties or to face a demanding situation in a spirited and resilient way; vigor and strength of spirit.
Showing your mettle simply means: to lead by example, to act, not just speak, to affect change, to remain humble while building, and to never quit.
Mettle – relentless progress. Strength, honor, integrity & equanimity.
“As long as you live, keep learning how to live.”
– Do not complain about the dark, instead light a candle.
Captain John Miller (played by Tom Hanks) in Saving Private Ryan, said to Pvt. James Ryan “Earn it”, meaning live a life that warrants being saved. Live every day honorably, honestly, and as fully as possible. Keep moving forward. Earn it.
Significance of the Entrenching tool (e-tool or spade) (our original logo) has been documented in writings which go all the way back to the Roman Empire. They’re typically used for entrenching or fortifying a position. Anyone who has served knows how versatile, durable and important the e-tool really is. Veterans are similar to the e-tool; each generation is slightly evolved (arguably improved), created with one primary intent but used for everything, always handy, resilient, unlimited potential, modest and reliable.
